Gloria Joann Weller age 97 passed away peacefully at Toledo Hospital after visiting with her family on Sunday, December 13th, 2020 in Toledo, Ohio.

As a young woman upon graduating from Devilbiss High School, she worked at Owens Illinois as a commercial artist. In later years, she worked as a bridal designer at The Ribbonry of Perrysburg, Ohio owned by her niece Camela Nitschke.

Gloria was a voracious reader. She read nearly every day of her life. In her younger years she enjoyed playing tennis, and riding horses. She was quite talented at painting on canvas and clothing and she also created many beautiful creations made with ribbons during her time at the Ribbonry. She also enjoyed gardening as well.

Gloria and Russ along with their children spent many happy summer holidays in Ontario Canada. Most of which were at Wellers Bay, Ontario, Canada which was named after Russ' great great grandfather Asa Weller. Many memories were made here. Family was everything to her.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Christina (Doug) Glick, Darcy Williams and; son James (Lucinda) Weller, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great daughter and countless family members and friends whom loved this extraordinary woman. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Russell Murphy Weller; her parents Oliver and Marguerite Luebka and her sisters ;Teddy(Ted) Miller, Shirley(Cliff) Robinson and Merrijo Luebka.

Services will be held at the Toledo Memorial Cemetery Chapel of Peace which is the largest and last chapel down to the left of the main office Friday, January 8th, 2021 at 12:00pm followed by a graveside service and prayers at 12:30 p.m. (Park outside the Chapel of Peace) After the service in the chapel, we will drive to her gravesite for the service there. You may attend both parts of the service or just the graveside if you prefer. Space in the chapel is limited and we ask that besides immediate family that extended family and friends closest to Gloria to please join us in the chapel for the service at 12. From 11:30 to 12:00 prior to the service, you are all welcome to briefly come in the chapel of peace to pay your respects. Please wear your masks. We are hopeful that we can also hold an outdoor celebration of Gloria's' life in the spring. God bless.

Her family prefers memorial tributes be made to her children to help with her final expenses. The remainder will be donated in her name to the Sight Center of Toledo.

Arrangements were entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home - West Sylvania Chapel (419 392 9500.) To leave a special message for The Weller Family click the "Share Memories" tab above.
