Gloria W. (Rife) Jennings, age 75, of Northwood, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. She was born on September 8, 1941 to George and Dorthea (Bailey) Rife in Toledo. Gloria was a graduate of Libbey High School and proudly served her country in the U.S. Navy. She was a talented seamstress and a wonderful cook. Gloria always put her families needs before her own, she was a caregiver to all. Most precious to her was her beautiful grandchildren, she loved them to pieces.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Charles R. (Dawnette) Jennings, Jr., Kassie (Eric) Anderson and Kimberly Haren; grandchildren, Michael, Kayla, J.P., Jarrod, Jennifer (Greg), Shelby (Jeremy), Tasha, Nicole (Corey), Krystal (Miguel), Ashley and Joshua; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie Lou Jennings and Opal (Glenn) Sasscer; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Robert Jennings, Sr.; infant daughter, Kandi Diane Jennings; son-in-law, Gary Haren; grandson, Christopher Jennings; great-grandson, Miguel Cruz; and siblings, Naomi, George, Jr., Robert, Dottie Mae, Vivian, Dick, Gilbert and Jack.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Glenn Sasscer, Jr. officiating.
