Jean Hernley, age 68, a lifelong resident of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, September 6th, 2011 at her home. She was born May 30th, 1943 in Toledo. Jean was a graduate of Waite High School, Class of 1961. She was employed with Flower Hospital for almost 25 years. Jean also worked for the local Red Cross for a short time. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 240 in Luckey, Ohio. Jean was known for her keen sense of humor and her ability to make others laugh. Most importantly, Jean cherished the time she was able to spend with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Alta and Curtis "Doc" Hernley, she was preceded in death by her dear grandmother, Rose Duncan; brother, Maurice Bower and special niece, Vicki Kasischke.
Jean is survived by her sister, Rosemarie "Mimi" (George) Heilman of Genoa, OH; special lifelong friend, Joan and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests Saturday from 2-7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Tom Willhardt.
