Gloria (Boes) Ryan

Gloria (Boes) Ryan, age 82, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 20, 2008 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. She was born on August 22, 1925 to Victor and Mae Boes in Toledo. Gloria worked early on in her marriage and then went on to be homemaker, raising her two sons. During that time she also enjoyed volunteering at Toledo and Mercy Hospitals.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Bodette. Gloria is survived by her loving husband of almost 62 years, John Ryan, Sr.; sons, John (Jan) Ryan, Jr. and Jeff Ryan; grandchildren, John III, Jessica, Sarah and Beth; great-grandchildren, Gracie and Makala; and life long friends, Ruth Kurtz and Jeanne Chengges.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday from 4 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo, (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Private. Interment will take place in Toledo Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make monetary donations are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Tonya with Visiting Angels and to Karen and Tammy with Hospice of Northwest Ohio for all of their loving care and compassion given to Gloria and her family through this difficult time.
