Glenn Dale Stewart

October 10, 1926 — December 14, 2020

Glenn "Frosty" Dale Stewart, 94, of Maumee, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Lakes of Monclova from natural causes. Glenn was born October 10, 1926 in Verda, KY to the late Henry and Elizabeth (Howard) Stewart.

Glenn worked in the coal mines as a teen until he enlisted in the U.S. Army at age 18. He was part of the Occupation of Japan when Japan surrendered. Glenn received several decorations and citations for his service. He was honorably discharged in December 1946. Glenn married Marian Asher on April 12, 1952. Relocating to Toledo, Ohio. Together they raised their 3 children in South Toledo. Glenn worked as a Die Setter for Shindler Haughton, Acklin Stamping retiring from both Toledo Pressed Steel and Tecumseh Productions.

Glenn loved returning to Verda, KY to visit his family and the beauty of the mountains. He loved the Detroit Tigers Baseball team and Kentucky basketball. Glenn also enjoyed fishing but most of all his grandkids and great-grandkids.

He is survived by his children, Victoria (Michael) Thompson of Monclova, OH, Jeffery Stewart of Toledo; sisters, Eloise Hicks and Vivian Hatfield of Dayton, OH; granddaughters, Cassandra (Dennis) Kennedy, Danielle (Mark) Wilhelm, and Laura Stewart; grandsons, Evan Stewart, Jason (Meghan) Stewart, Damian (Shannon) Stewart, Brandon (Brandy) Nowakowski and Brent (Mallory) Nowakowski; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Tony, Carter and Taylor Nowakowski, Reese and Rory Kennedy, and Harper and Reign Wilhelm; great-great-granddaughter, Paisley Nowakowski.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marian; daughter, Mitzi Nowakowski; brothers, Lowell and Calvin Stewart; sisters, Opal Bosher, Anna Ruth Bacher and Lois Stone.

The family will receive guests Friday, December 18, 2020 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900) where Funeral Services will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery.

For the safety of the Stewart family and their guests, masks are required along with social distancing.

The family would like to thank the nurses, aids, and staff at Lakes of Monclova and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the compassionate care.

Memorial contributions may be made to Toledo Area Humane Society in Glenn's memory.
