Glen E. Jameson, Jr.

Glen E. Jameson, Jr., age 91, passed away Tuesday, November 1st, 2011 at Sylvania Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born November 8, 1919 to Glen E. and Gertrude (Meyer) Jameson in Toledo. Glen was a graduate of DeVillbiss High School. He also served his country proudly in WWII with the U.S. Army Air Force, 8th Air Force, 4th Fighter Group, 336th Fighter Squadron. Stationed in Debden, England this was one of the first fighter groups to team-up with England's Royal Air Force Eagle Squadron's to infiltrate Germany in 1942. One of Glen's proudest moments was being part of Honor Flight of Northwest Ohio. This past April he was able to visit Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials that have been dedicated to all WWII veterans.

Glen was also one of the oldest living carpenters belonging to the Local #1138 Carpenters' Union, having been a member for 72 years. He was a longtime member of Christ the King Church; enjoyed warm weather and especially the sun and most importantly spending time with his family and attending family gatherings and celebrations.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 64 years, Mary C. Jameson; sister, Mary Jo Jameson and brother, Robert Jameson. Left to cherish his memory are children, Tom (Connie) Jameson of Sylvania, OH; Mary Jo (Chuck) Faller of Temperance, MI.; Jerry (Pat) Jameson of Perrysburg, OH and Tim Jameson of Clarksville, TN; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and beloved cat, Hobo.

The family will receive guests Sunday from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home Monday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 4100 Harvest Lane. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

The Jameson Family would like to thank the entire staff of Sylvania Care and Rehabilitation Center and the staff with Odyssey Hospice for the loving care and support they provided for Glen during his time there. Also a special thanks to the fellow residents and their camaraderie that they had shared with Glen.
