Glen Duane "Zeke" Parkinson, age 79, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born November 22, 1929 in Lansing, Michigan. Glen was a U.S. Navy veteran serving his country proudly. He was employed with Duncan Metal Spinning for many years retiring in 1993. Glen was an avid Michigan Fan, especially when Bo Schembeckler was coaching. He enjoyed fishing and bowling and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his mother Louise (Burns) Parkinson, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Kaetzel. Glen is survived by his loving wife, June (Managhan) Parkinson with who he would have celebrated 58 years of marriage in December; children, Linda (Denny) Pool; Gary (Melinda) Parkinson; Cindy (Tom) Jutkowski; Wendy (Ray) Struffolino and Penny (Tim) Andra; grandchildren, Denny (Laura) and Jason (Aimee) Pool; Brandy (Jeremiah) Hogeland and Brittany (Scott) Andra; great grandchildren, Cameron; Ethan and Conner Pool and Aidan and Austin Marckel; best canine companion, "Tasha" and many extended family members and dear friends.
The family will receive guests Wednesday from 2-7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. Officiating will be Glen's family minister, Chuck Marckel.
