Gladys Stambaugh

Gladys M. Stambaugh, age 97, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Sunset House in Ottawa Hills. She was born June 19, 1914 to Earl and Emma (Pagel) Maynard in Toledo. She married Richard Stambaugh, a former State Farm Insurance Agent in the Toledo area on January 2, 1937 in Toledo and he preceded her in death on September 15, 1975. Gladys was an avid reader and a wonderful baker, her family will miss the delicious desserts she used to bake for them. She also enjoyed dancing, especially ballroom dancing. For nearly 25 years she had a special dancing partner, Carl Warren with whom she would attend dancing events with and he passed away in 2004.

Left to cherish her memory is her children, Gregg (Debbie) Stambaugh, Sheila Stambaugh (Jim Dominique) and Reed (Nanci) Stambaugh; grandchildren, Holly (Chris) Galligan, Amy (Rob) Seiffert, Theresa Dominique (Brian English), Chad (Jillian) Stambaugh, Eric Stambaugh and Keith Stambaugh; great-grandchildren, Keira, Mia, Amber, Courtney, Brandon, Robby and one great-granddaughter arriving in September; brother in law, Don Stambaugh and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her sisters, Gertrude and Pearl.

The family will receive guests Wednesday from 3-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
