Gladys V. Saylor

Gladys V. Saylor, age 93, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Ebeid Hospice Residence with loving family by her side. She was born on September 4, 1929 to John and Ellen Ely in Hagan, Virginia. Gladys worked at Mercy Hospital for many years in the surgical department before retiring. She was a longtime member of Shelton Park Church of God and loved the Lord. Gladys was strong in her faith, always praying and looked to the Lord. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics and was an excellent cook. Gladys loved nothing more than her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth Saylor; son, Austin Saylor; grandson, Brett Boles; and 8 siblings. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Rick Saylor; grandchildren, Audra (Joe) Austin, Austin (Joy) Saylor, Angie (John) Unruh, and Mandi (Andrew) King; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Monday from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
