Gladys M. Manke

Gladys M. "Chic" Manke, age 90, of Toledo, went to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Lake Park Comfort Care surrounded by loving family. She was born on March 16, 1923 to John and Mildred (Tyson) Reinhard in Fostoria. Chic loved cooking, gardening, baking and writing poetry. She was a people person and loved nothing more than the time spent with her friends and family.

Chic is survived by her loving children, Michael (Phyllis) Manke, Carol (William) Bethel, Donna (John) Pendrey, Lisa (Larry) Nowak and David Englehardt; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; sister, Mildred (Ralph) Cunningham; brothers, Raymond, Arthur (Gloria) and Roger Reinhard; and many other family members and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former spouse and friend, Edward Manke; sister, Amy Below; brother, John Reinhard, Jr.; and granddaughter, Carrie Manke.

The family will receive guests on Monday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider a charity of the donor's choice.

The family would like to give a special thank you to all of the staff and caregivers at Lake Park Comfort Care for all of the love, support and care given to Mom and her family through this difficult time.
