Gertrude Youngs

Gertrude V. Youngs, age 82, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2005, at Harborside of Swanton nursing home. She was born on February 26, 1923 to Melvin and Minnie (Reichardt) Young in Toledo. Gertrude worked in retail for 20 years until she retired. She was a past member of the Bayview Yacht Club, the American Legion on Byrne Rd., and the Maumee Elks Club.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Youngs, sister, Doris Anthony and brother, George Young. Gertrude is survived by her daughters: Nancy (Joseph) Christman and Judi Roth; grandchildren: Tim (Angela), Rick (Lisa), Terry (Deann) and Danny (Laura) Thetford, Deb (Steve) Schroeder, Cherie Cook, Matt (Alicia) Van Camp; great-grandchildren: Nick, Ashley, Alison, Joe, Emily, Max, Amanda, Christian, Nathan, Katelyn, Isabelle, Hannah and Emma; sisters: Dora Fullington and Joyce Jamieson; brothers: Melvin (Joyce) and Howard (Sharon) Young.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, November 6, 2005 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300), where a Funeral Service will take place Monday at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Dennis Lauman will be officiating. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
