Gerald C. Sheckler

Gerald C. Sheckler, age 87, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2023, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. Gerald was born November 30, 1935, in Toledo, to the late Clifford and Caroline (Hoffman) Sheckler.

Gerald graduated from Whitmer High School. He was a hard and dedicated worker at General Motors for over 30 years, where he retired. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed taking the boat out and being on the water and traveling to new places. He and his wife, Linda, have been spending the winters in Fort Myers, Florida, for over 20 years, where they have met many amazing friends with lots of memories made. Gerald was a member of the Riverview Yacht Club, where he was past safety director and entertainment man. Also, he was a member of a Moose Lodge in Florida and Blue Lodge. Geralds love and smile will forever be missed by those who knew him. This isn't goodbye, but we will see you again!

Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving wife, Linda Sheckler, whom he married on July 30, 1982; brother, Lyle Sheckler; 9 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; step-children, Brian and Jeff Machcinski; step-grandchildren, Allie, Nick, Jake, and Justin; brother-in-law, Keith (Lori) Holub; and numerous nephews and nieces.

In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his children, Randy, Ronnie, and Robb Sheckler.

A memorial gathering will take place at a later date.
