Gerald "Big Stuff" McNeal
Gerald McNeal's sunrise was May 10, 1971. His sunset was April 22, 2023, after short stay at Hospice. He attended Scott High School, and spent his career in manufacturing. Gerald was an avid sports fan. While he watched any sport that was on TV, his all-time favorites were Michigan Wolverines football, Pittsburgh Steelers, and LA Lakers. Gerald loved playing poker and over the years won his fair share of money pots. Gerald was always the life of the party and enjoyed going out. He enjoyed good food (specifically his favorite cousin Tessa's potato salad) and great music. Gerald loved watching movies. His favorites genres were horror or over-the-top comedies. He was so charismatic, charming, and giving. Above all else, Gerald was so proud to be a father. He said his greatest achievement in life was his children. When he spoke about them, his heart overflowed with pride.
Gerald is preceded in death by grandparents, Will and Ruby McNeal, his Father, Rogers Jackson, Aunts Chiwillia Fitch and Jackie McNeal, Uncles Joe McNeal and Ollie McNeal. He is survived by his mother Yvonne Jackson, Uncle Rory, Aunts Joanne Long(his favorite) and Tanya McNeal, wife Julianna, sons Gerald Wayne Jr. "JR" (Alexis), Garrison, Guilius, daughter Gianna, goddaughter Ky'Rashae Kerns. Father and Mother in law Jerry and Marian Russell, brother in laws Joseph, Charles, Pat (Sarah) Russell and Matt Norris, sister in laws Mary (Shelby) and Sandra (Hallie) Russell. His closest friends Teen, Jevon, Nate, June, Al and a bunch more family and friends.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home-West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd (419-392-9500). Services will held Friday, April 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
