Gerald "Jerry" Hinz, Jr., 50, went to be with the Lord on September 23, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 11, 1961 to Mary and Gerald Hinz in Toledo, Ohio.
Jerry was a Facilities Site Coordinator for Toledo Public Schools. He worked for the school system for almost 30 years. Jerry enjoyed listening to music, especially classic rock. He was an excellent cook; his family specifically loved his Lebanese dishes. Jerry was a member of CedarCreek Church and was involved with the Drama Team there. He will most famously be remembered for his role as "Goliath."
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Mary. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 27 years, Ann; children, Tony (Courtney), Jessica (Jeremiah), Alex and Jami; father, Gerald; grandchildren, Elijah, Alivia and Elana and his furry companion, dog Teddy.
The family will receive guests on Thursday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial at Riverside Cemetery in Maumee.
Memorial Donations may be made to the Toledo Humane Society.
