Gerald T Chmielewski

Gerald "Jerry" T. Chmielewski, 63, of Toledo, Ohio passed away at his home unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. Jerry was born March 9, 1955 to Evelyn and John Chmielewski Jr.

Jerry had a heart of gold and helped others selflessly. He could be seen in his younger years playing basketball at Ottawa Park and even earned a scholarship. He was employed at Chrysler Machining, where he was known by his friends as "Jerry Jeep". He previously worked at Jeep and Prestole Everlock, all as a U.A.W member.

In his free time he enjoyed gardening and loved working in his yard. He deeply loved his wife, children and family.

Jerry was preceded in death by his Father John and youngest son Shaun Chmielewski.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 40 years, Deborah Chmielewski; He was especially close to his Mother, Evelyn Chmielewski; Daughters, Erin (Dave) Estep, Jessica Chmielewski; Son Gerald (Brittany) Chmielewski; Brother John Chmielewski; Sister Sharon (Brian) Tuck; Grand-children Tristan, Pretty, Evelynn, Anthony, Leah, Emma, Amelia; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was loved by everyone who met him and will be deeply missd by all.

The family will receive guest on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. ~ 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Southwest Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, OH 43614 (419) 381-1900. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018 at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, 719 Evesham Ave, Toledo, OH 43607 at 12:00 p.m. with a Graveside Service to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
