Georgene Hope Noss

Georgene Hope Noss, age 89, of Oakland Township, Michigan, passed away on December 22, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 6, 1933, in Racine, Wisconsin, to the late Arvid and Viola (Mikkelsen) Pedersen.

Georgene attended Park High School, in Racine, Wisconsin, where she graduated in 1951. She continued her education at Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee, where she received her Bachelors in education. She attended Mary Manse in Toledo, where she received a teaching certificate for Ohio. While in Toledo, she attended the University of Toledo, where she proudly received her Master's in education. With her love for teaching, Georgene went back to her home state to work in Racine, Wisconsin, then worked in Dallas, Texas, and then came to Toledo to work at Washington Local Schools, where she retired.

Georgene lived a life full of love and light. As a mother and grandmother, she nurtured her family with wisdom; as a teacher, she guided students with insight; as a traveler, she explored this world with excitement; as a woman of faith, she inspired us all. Georgene was a loving mother and grandmother. Her smile and love will forever be remembered. This isn't goodbye, it's see you later…

Those left to forever cherish her memory are her daughter, Lisa Friedrich; son, Marc Friedrich; and grandchildren, Michael Harris, Marc Harris, and Grant Friedrich.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Herbert Friedrich; second husband, Jack Noss; sister, Judy Pedersen; and her brother, Lloyd Pedersen.

At this time there will be private family services held at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. There will be a Celebration of Life held in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like any memorial contributions be made to Water for Ishmael, 20 Arco Drive Toledo, Ohio 43607.
