George W. Rehak, age 91, of Holland, formerly of Schenectady, New York, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Parkcliffe Community. He was born on July 30, 1919 to William and Anna Rehak in Schenectady, New York. George was employed with the General Electric Co. in New York before enlisting in the U.S. Navy where he served our country proudly. After being discharged from the Navy he worked in the maintenance department for Ellis Hospital and was the supervisor of the department for about 10 years before retiring. After retirement George became a volunteer Fireman at Thomas Corners in Scotia, New York. He loved spending time with his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Agnes Gomez. George is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Virginia "Jayne" Rehak; daughter, Shirley (Mike) Gray; granddaughters, Jodi, Teri and Lori; great-grandchildren, Conner, Courtney, Breanna, Ricki, Sierra and Hannah; and brother, Rudolf (Gertrude) Rehak, of Clifton Park, New York.
The family will receive guests on Thursday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-3900). Graveside Services and Interment will be private at Toledo Memorial Park.
