George Thompson, Sr.

George "Eddie" Thompson, Sr., age 64, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 6, 2018 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born on August 22, 1953 to Billie and Mildred Thompson in Toledo. Eddie was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a truck driver for many years before retiring, which he loved. Eddie enjoyed spending time at home, being with his family and later his grandchildren.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Carol Thompson; children, Jessica (Chris) Rickus, Cindy Parker, Kevin Thompson, George Thompson, Jr. and Billy Thompson; grandchildren, Dylan, Sophia, Angelina, Cody, Bryce, and many others; siblings, Garry Thompson, Cathy (Eddie) Lawson, Laura Lawson and Lisa Cline; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 2 – 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Memorial Services beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
