George Sitzenstock, 88, passed away on January 15, 2014. He was born on April 6, 1925 to the late Irene (Kiebler) and Herbert Sitzenstock in Toledo, Ohio.
George retired from The Anderson's after many years as a Train Mechanic and Maintenance Supervisor. He was an avid model railroader and owned "The Hopper Shop", supplying model railroad enthusiasts for over 15 years. George was instrumental in reviving the Ann Arbor Railroad. He was an active member of Concordia Lutheran Church for most of his life. George was known for his love of John Deere, Ford tractor, farming and gardening.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jacquelyne (Rice). Left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Robert P. (Sally) and David J. (Paulette); nieces and nephews, Gigi, Heidi, Robert E., Synda (Gary), Stephanie (Mike), George W., Christopher, Melissa; grand-niece, Peanut and grand-nephews, Christopher, Noah and Ari.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 6-7:00 p.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church, 3636 S. Detroit Ave., Toledo. The Memorial Service will begin at 7:00 p.m.
George requested any memorial donations be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Honor Flight.
