George J. Rodriguez, age 86, of Toledo, went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2018 . George was born April 23, 1932 in Toledo to John and Ursula (Luperseo) Rodriguez.
Rod joined the United States Air Forces shortly after High School where he served for 8 years. While serving in the military he met and married the love of his life Mary and they shared 22 wonderful years together. He had a passion for cooking and was the Executive Head Chef of several well-known eateries in the city of Toledo. He loved spending time with his family, raising 10 children and in his later years enjoyed his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, George was also preceded in death by his loving wife Mary. He is survived by his Daughters, Marie (Steve) Glass, Loretta Poskarbiewitz, Georgette (Frank) Flores, Andria Clemons, Rebecca (Ramon) Garcia, Stephanie Rodriguez; Sons, Joseph Rodriguez, Anthony Rodriguez, Philip Rodriguez, George (Chrissy) Rodriguez; Brother, Godfrey Rodriguez; 36 Grandchildren; 33 Great-Grandchildren; 4 Great-Great Grandchildren.
The family will receive guests Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419) 473-0300. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 beginning at 10:00 am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane Toledo, OH 43623. Interment to follow at Restlawn Cemetery.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Genesis of Point Place and Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
