George Fisher, Age 56, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2008 at the Toledo Hospital. He was born on December 14, 1951 to Wesley C. and Phyllis M. (Lanz) Fisher in Toledo. He was a graduate of Bedford High School. George was employed with Sharon Manufacturing for 20 years and then went to work at Ohio Excavating for the last 16 years. He was a big fan of the Michigan Wolverines, the Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Tigers. George was also an avid Nascar fan. George also enjoyed helping coach his son's little league baseball team for a few years. George was an avid hunter, bowler, gardener and woodworker. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece, Diane Fisher. George is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Renee (Rectenwald) Fisher; son: Wesley Fisher; brothers: Walter "Butch" (Fran) and Norm (Pam) Fisher; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Thursday from 2 – 7:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Dennis Lauman.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make monetary donations are asked to consider a charity of the donor's choice.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Toledo Hospital, 9th floor ICU and to everyone at Arbors of Waterville, especially Queenie, for all of their loving care and compassion given to George and his family through this difficult time.
