Genevie O. Szczublewski

Genevie O. "Ginny" Szczublewski, age 87, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio with loving family by her side. She was born on October 13, 1936 to William and Alverda Hughes in Toledo, Ohio. Ginny graduated from Woodward High School. She worked in insurance sales for many years before retiring. Ginny enjoyed shopping, and collecting ceramics figurines. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Ginny's smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert Szczublewski; daughter-in-law, Wendy Szczublewski; daughter, Cheryl Thomas; and 7 siblings. Left to cherish Ginny's memory are her loving sons, Steve Szczublewski, Greg (Nancy) Szczublewski, and Bob (Angela) Szczublewski; grandchildren, Steven, Alysha, Ryan (Brooke), Corey (Angela), Kyle (Sara), Casey, Nicole (Antonio), Michael (Jenny), Samantha (Dane) and Haley (Alec); 8 great-grandchildren; special pup, Kodi; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd., Toledo, OH 43617 (419-392-9500). Funeral Services will begin Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
