Gene Roberts, age 78, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2016. He was born on July 19, 1938 in New York.
Gene retired after 25 years from Chrysler where he worked as a mechanic and then in the paint shop. He also ran his own gas station, Roberts Sohio on Eastgate and Glendale for over 15 years. Gene's passion was building and racing cars and motorcycles at Norwalk and Milan Dragways. He was an active member of the NRA and Adams Conservation Club. Gene's greatest joy was his wife, children and grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 54 years, Toni; daughters, Shelly Milliron and Lisa (Rick) Reed; grandchildren, Britani (Mike) Kyser, Lindsay and Joseph Milliron Jr., Madison and Logan Reed; great-grandchildren, Ava and Alaina Kyser; sisters, Nancy Brenn and Diane (Bob) Graham; brother, Garett Roberts. Gene was preceded in death by his only son, Glenn Lewis Roberts and brother, Larry Roberts.
The family will receive guests from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 p.m.
