Gene L. Hudson

Gene L Hudson, Sr. age, 84 of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025. Born on July 8, 1940, Gene lived a full and vibrant life, filled with love for his family and a passion for working with his hands. Known for his talent and knowledge of cars, Gene spent countless hours tinkering, restoring, and working on vehicles, a hobby that brought him both joy and fulfillment.

Gene was a kind and caring soul who touched the lives of everyone around him. His commitment to his family, love of life, church, and ability to always lend a hand to those in need will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Gene was the beloved husband of 65 years to Barbara Hudson, a devoted father to Gene Hudson Jr and Don Hudson, and a cherished grandfather to Samantha Hudson and Brandy (Brent) King. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Brendan and Brayden King. In addition to his immediate family, Gene is also survived by Anne Edwards, his sister, and many friends, extended family, and loved ones who will miss him deeply.

Friends and family will be received at the Newcomer Funeral Home (Northwest Chapel), 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 AM. A graveside service will immediately follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice.
