Gene Garza

Gene David Garza, Jr, age 44, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born February 26, 1965 to Gene Garza Sr. and Olivia R. Ortiz in Toledo, Ohio. David had worked for AP Parts for numerous years as a Shop Chairman. After the company closed he worked for numerous auto-body shops around the Toledo area. He had a love and passion for all classic cars. David will be remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle and father. His children were the light of his life. The love of his life, is Lucia Loach.

David is survived by his mother , Olivia "Libby" and stepfather, Marcos Ortiz; his children, Gene D. Garza, III; Lucas, Parker and Vanessa; sisters, Darlene M. (Rich) Boyer; Gina D. (Kelly Paul) King; brother, Jimi Dean (Lisa M.) Garza; nieces, Olivia (Jason) and Bianca; nephews, Rico (Leah) and Michael; Christopher and AJ; great nephews and niece, Trinadad and Gabby, Elias; father , Gene D. Garza Sr., and stepmother, Alice; sisters, Pauline; Gyen (Tom) Ruiz; Regina (Daniel) and LeAndra (Chris); brothers, Geno Garza and other numerous nieces and nephews; Brother in Chirst, Darryl Horton and Brother Maddox. Preceding him in death is his brother, Paul D. Garza Sr.

The family will receive guests Monday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Brother Darryl Horton. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
