Gary E. Tubbs, Sr.

Gary E. Tubbs, Sr., age 76, of Maumee, passed away December 12, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was born June 13, 1941 in Toledo to Lee and Donnah (Caswell) Tubbs. Gary worked at Roadway for 25 years. Known as "Captain Jim," Gary made and repaired golf clubs at Wedgewood that later became Components Plus. Gary also enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, playing pool and going to the casinos. He liked to travel, especially going up north with his family.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Ann Tubbs; children, Gary, Jr., Jeff, Shawn (Jen), Dawn; grandchildren, Julian, Kaleigh, Austin, Cody, Hannah, Shauna, Monica, Jordan, Kevin, Haleigh; siblings, Vivian Gibson, Sharon (Jerry) Thomasson, Larry (Julia) Tubbs and Charles (Dee) Tubbs. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his son, Kevin and siblings, Marilynn Heer, Phyllis Kohn and Donna Lee Tubbs.

The family will receive guests Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd Toledo (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Monday, December 18, 2017 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
