Gary Koester

Gary Russell Koester, age 67, of Toledo, passed away March 29, 2015 after a brief illness at The Toledo Hospital. Gary was born October 6, 1947 in Toledo to Raymond Koester and Violet Schwellinger. Gary operated his own insurance agency with the Allstate Insurance Company for more than 10 years. He also was the past President of Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, past President of the Ohio Cemetery Association and a former Business Manager with the Lucas County Department of Welfare. Gary proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era with the Ohio National Guard.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his Wife, Judy, Sons, Russell and Jonathan, Brother, Jay (Susan), Sister, Linda (Walter) Zech, Grandson, Jonah Koester, Sisters-In-Law, Joan (Leo) Windle and Carol (William) Henderson, along with many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - NW Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 3:00 pm. in the funeral home. Interment will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park at a later date.
