Gary "Bud" Joly Jr.

Gary "Bud" Joly Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on April 16, 2025, in Toledo, Ohio, at the age of 59. Born on March 6, 1966, in Toledo, Bud was a lifelong resident of the area, where he made a significant impact through both his work and his personal relationships.

For the past 20 years, Bud owned and operated Bud's Tree Service, a venture that brought him great joy and fulfillment. His dedication to his clients and the trust they placed in him and his team was a point of pride for Bud. Prior to establishing his own business, he worked for Waste Management in Toledo, showcasing his commitment to serving the community.

Bud was known for his caring nature, always eager to lend a hand to those in need. His warmth and ability to make others feel at ease when discussing their tree care needs were hallmarks of his profession. His true spirit of kindness extended beyond his work; he was a loving individual who cherished his family and friends deeply.

A true outdoorsman, Bud loved hunting and fishing, often embracing the beauty of nature that surrounded him. His passion for the outdoors served as a backdrop to countless memories shared with loved ones.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Monica Joly; his son, Dustin Joly; and his step-sons, Shannon Spratt and his wife Tori, Nick Bovee and his wife Mary, and Ryan Bovee and his wife Angela. Bud took immense pride in his extended family, which includes fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who brought joy and purpose to his life. He also leaves behind his father, Gary Joly Sr.; his mother, Carlene Joly; his sister, Peggy Smith and her husband Jeff; three nephews; and a host of extended family and friends who will dearly miss him.

The visitation for Bud will be held on April 28, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Toledo, located at 4150 W Laskey Rd, Toledo, OH 43623. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location at 4:00 PM.

As we remember Bud, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and a commitment to family. His legacy will undoubtedly continue through the many lives he touched throughout his journey.
