Gary P. Hill

Gary P. Hill, age 69, of Holland, OH, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at home. He was born on July 27, 1954 to Paul and Elizabeth (Rowell) Hill in Indianapolis, Indiana. Gary worked as a truck driver for many years before retiring. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, boating and being on the water, bird watching, feeding the birds and tending to his yard. Gary also loved riding his motorcycle and being on the open road. He often liked to frequent Kroger, helping put carts away, talking to random strangers, and making many new friends; this was a daily trip for him. To know Gary was to love Gary. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need, no matter what the cause or issue was. Gary liked music of all kinds, especially Cake by the Ocean.

Gary’s greatest passion in life was his family. He was most proud of his daughter, step-daughter and all his grandchildren. Gary was always their biggest cheerleader and never faltered in showing up to any event, concert, or sporting event. They all were the light of his life. Gary’s smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. He would want you to remember him with a smile!

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Erin Elizabeth Mason. Left to cherish his memory are his loving grandchildren, Mateya Kaslly, Mariya Kaslly, Mylee Strock, Lane Strock and Lennon Strock; step-daughter, Tiffany (Daniel) Strock; siblings, Larry (Paula) Hacker and Cindy Brown; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd., Toledo, OH 43617 (419-392-9500).
