Garnet Louise Wandtke, age 79, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee, Ohio. She was born on August 5, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Donald and Irene (Kohn) Ostrander.
Garnet worked at home, taking care of her family. In the earlier years, she enjoyed traveling with her husband. Garnet liked shopping, going out to eat, playing cards, hanging out with friends, and was talented at sewing quilts. Family meant everything to Garnet; they were always number one. She looked forward to family dinners, which happened once a month, where everyone would get together for a good time. Garnet will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Those left to forever cherish her memory are her son, Timothy (Jodie) Wandtke; grandchildren, Jenna (Justin) Tippie and Marissa (Thomas) Wade; siblings, Donna (Don) Scott, Kenneth (Vickie) Ostrander, Donald (Terri) Ostrander Jr., Charles (Pam) Ostrander, and Jerri Fisher; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Melvin Wandtke; and two sisters, Ruth Ann Eiche and Barbara Cooper.
Family and friends may gather at Newcomer Funeral Home. 3655 King Road, Toledo, Ohio 43617, on Monday, June 27, 2022, from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral at 11:00 am. Garnet will be laid to rest, next to Melvin, at Toledo Memorial Park.
