Gail L. Cherry Bechtel
November 1, 1955 — October 28, 2022
Gail L. Cherry Bechtel, 66, of Liberty Center, Ohio passed away from a short battle with cancer, at Hospice in Sylvania, Ohio. She was born to Edwin and Sharon (Williams) Cherry on November 1, 1955, in Toledo, Ohio.
She graduated from Springfield High School in 1973 and later received an Early Childhood Education degree from Owens Community College and went on to become a director at Over the Rainbow Children's Day Care Center, in Sylvania, Ohio for 20 years. She then got a degree for Medical Billing and Coding from Stautzenberger College and began working for the Fulton County Health Center. After leaving Fulton County Health Center, she worked for Toledo Hospital for a few years, then left to for Advanced Specialty Hospital until two months before her passing as a Finance Director.
She enjoyed tending her garden, feeding the wildlife, and boating on the Maumee River with her husband, son, and dogs. Gail lived a healthy lifestyle by eating vegan, gluten free, and all-organic diet.
Gail was loved deeply and loved deeply. You didn't have to know her long to feel an instant connection with Gail. She was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. This isn't goodbye, it's see you later…
Those left to forever cherish her memory are her husband, Kent Bechtel, son Jay Bechtel (Tiffany), parents Edwin and Sharon Cherry, sister Cindy Adams, and brother Mark (Laurie) Cherry.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Waterville Event Center, suite B, located at 1440 Waterville Monclova Road in Waterville, Ohio on Friday, December 2, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Family requests that any donations be made to the Toledo Humane Society.
