Gael L. Lippincott, 68, of Toledo, Ohio passed away July 7th, 2012, after a courageous battle of esophageal cancer at ProMedica Ebeid Hospice Residence Center surrounded by her loving family.
Gael was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 8th, 1943 to the late Ralph and Hazel (Vance) Holliger. She was a 1962 graduate of Devilbiss High School. Gael married Lynn Norman Lippincott on June 6th, 1964; they were married for 48 years. Gael retired from the Toledo Board of Education after 30 years of service.
Besides her family, Gael's true passion was her dogs, with whom she trained and competed in Flyball, Agility, field and obedience. Obedience was her first love and she was a remarkable dog trainer. Gael trained two of her Golden Retrievers to earn Obedience Champsionships (OTCH) and she was invited to the National Obedience Invitational Competition, which is for the best of the best trainers and dogs. She was also a generous instructor and mentor for other obedience competitors; her students were also successful competitors, largely due to Gael's help. She was an active member of the Toledo Kennel Club. Gael also worked with her dogs in Pet Therapy throughout the Toledo area.
Gael is survived by her husband, Lynn; children, Beth Ann Lippincott (Toledo) and Douglas Bryan Lippincott (Tampa, FL); sister, Lael Challen (Treasure Island, FL); brother, Thomas (Kathleen) Holliger (Toledo); sister-in-law, Karen (Randy) Ristow (Kent, Ohio); many nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
