Frederick Bremer

Frederick H. "Fred" Bremer, age 83, of Sylvania, formerly of Toledo, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born on July 5, 1923 to Herbert and Minnie (Shank) Bremer in Toledo. Fred was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and a longtime member of VFW Post 3265. He was employed with Owens-Illinois for 35 years until he retired in 1982. After retiring Fred worked part-time at Kroger's in Spring Meadows. He had a great love for fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Eva (Szych) Bremer in 2005, brother, Dale Bremer and great-granddaughter, Nancy Szych. Fred is survived by his loving family, sons: Joey (Brenda Steyer), Ronald (Mickey) and Leon (Joyce) Szych; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great grandson, Baby Szych on the way; sister: Carol Bach; niece: Linda (Larry) Acord; and many other nieces and nephews.

Graveside Funeral Services will take place Monday, June 25, 2007 at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m. The Newcomer Funeral Home, (419-473-0300) assisted the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers those wishing to make monetary donations are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
