Franklin Delano Parse, age 81, of Toledo, passed away February 21, 2015 at Flower Hospital. Frank was born April 14, 1933 in Terra Haute, Indiana to William and Mary (Kelly) Parse. He was employed with Kroger as a meat cutter for more than 41 years retiring in 1996. Frank proudly served as a Marine during the Korean War. Frank was formerly a sponsor for AA and helped many people achieve sobriety. He enjoyed jewelry making rings, necklaces and belt buckles, square dancing with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Franklin was also preceded in death by his brothers Roy and Eugene. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Loretta Parse, daughter, Rene (Larry Jr.) Hadding, son John Parse, Sisters, Mary Bailey, Wanda Hooper, Loretta Cooper, Rita (Bob) Babcock and Susan Nelson, brother William "Billy" (Nancy) Parse, grandchildren who will miss their "Papa" Jacob, Joshua and Sarah Hadding, along with many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him!
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home 4150 West Laskey Rd. Toledo, OH 43623 (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home followed by entombment at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
