Franklin H. Crowley

May 21, 1953 — April 2, 2020

Franklin Howard Crowley, age 66, of Sylvania, Ohio passed away Thursday, April 2nd, 2020 at The University of Toledo Medical Center of Covid-19. He was born May 21st, 1953 to James Raymond and Leona Caroline (Wilder) Crowley in Toledo. Frank was an Electrical Engineer employed with GT Technologies for 29 years. He was a 1971 graduate of Macomber High School and later graduated from Owens Community College with his Associate Degree.

Frank was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and his "Man-cave" proved it. He enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and various areas in the Caribbean with his wife Pam. It was often remarked with a smile that Frank continued to work so he could go on cruises with his wife. Whether they were vacationing in beautiful destinations or walking down their own street, you could see the love and devotion Frank had for Pam, walking hand-in-hand to nowhere special just as long as they were together enjoying each other's company.

Frank was a loving father and grandfather, attending all those sporting events fathers do with their children while they were growing up. Being a father was something he was proud of. When his family started to be blessed with grandchildren, Frank's heart grew even bigger with love and pride, those grandchildren were very special to him and he loved hearing them call him "Papa". The time spent with his family was precious to him and he treasured every minute.

Frank was never one to sit still for very long so he had many interests over the years. Two of his favorites were owning a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a 1999 Silver Corvette. Both were considered to be "sweet rides" by his description.

In addition to all he accomplished in his life, Frank will be remembered for his kindness, his devotion to family and friends and his patience when challenges came his way.

Frank is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 46 years, Pamela R. (Gawrych) Crowley; sons, Doug (Andrea) Crowley & Justin (Maggie) Crowley and daughter, Sara (Jesse) Rhodes; grandchildren, Aaron and Madi, Max, Hugh & Hazel and Jerry and John. Frank is also survived by his sisters, Marilyn, Jean, Helen and Liz as well as a host of extended family members and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his sisters, Madeline and Caroline.

As these are difficult times for the community and beyond, the Crowley Family will remember Frank's life in private. When we are once again able to come together in the near future, the Family will share details about a Memorial Gathering to celebrate Frank. Please send your prayers and support to Pam and the family.

Those who would like to make a Memorial Contribution in Frank's memory are encouraged to consider a charity of your choice.
