Frank L. Beavers, Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 5, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 8, 1925 to the late Frank Leslie Sr. and Willie Ada (Trice) Beavers in Winchester, Tennessee.
Frank moved to Toledo as a young boy and graduated from Macomber High School. He joined the Army and proudly served in Patton's 3rd Army. Frank received 3 Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart with 2 Oakleaf Clusters. Upon his return from war, he married Billie Joyce Streight on September 9, 1945. Frank made his career working for Canteen Corporation of Toledo. He retired as Vice President of Operations after 40 years with the company.
Frank loved camping his entire life. He also was interested in photography, always buying the newest cameras. Frank enjoyed motorcycling in Southern Ohio, Jeep four-wheeling at Silver Lake, snow mobiling in Michigan and traveling to Amish Country.
He will be forever remembered by his 3 children, Patricia (Tom) Goodman (aka Cowboy + Ethel), Frank (Pam)Beavers III and William (Kathy) Beavers; 9 grandchildren, Tammy (Jason) Pietrowski, Amanda (Thor) Jones, Jason (Allison) Hurt, Frank (Jessica) Beavers IV, Sean (Sarah) Beavers, Kimberly (Tommy) Vaculik, Sarah Beavers, Evan (Shawna) Beavers and Joseph Beavers and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Selna Nichols and brother-in-law, Nick.
For the last year he was proud to be known as "the oldest beaver in the pond."
The Family will receive guests on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
