Frank Mangotic, age 87, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Flower Hospital. He was born on October 24, 1924 to Ivan John and Anica (Brdar) Mangotic in Oberdean, Washington. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII and became and active member of the Seabee's. He was employed with Jeep for over 30 years before retiring and was a longtime member of the UAW Local #12. Frank enjoyed playing cards, golfing, was a private pilot and an avid pool player and traveler in his retirement years. He was a hardworker and liked to tinker around the house doing different projects. To relax, Frank enjoyed sitting by the fire. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren; often attending their sporting events.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Mangotic; infant grandson, Samuel Mangotic; and brothers, Carl Mangotich and John Mangotic. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Doris Mangotic; children, Judy (Ray) Compton, Jackie (Bob) Durell, Barbara (Derek) Rogers, Tom (Hilda) Mangotic and Frank (Shelly) Mangotic; 17 grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, George (Joyce) Mangotich, Annie Martel and Max (Anita) Mangotich; and many other relatives and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Friday, November 4, 2011 from 2 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) where Funeral Services will begin at 7:00 p.m.
