Frank "Bud" Toy, age 94, a lifetime resident of Toledo, passed away Saturday, March 5th, 2011 at Foundation Care Center. He was born February 23rd, 1917 to Francis and Helen Toy in Toledo, Ohio. Bud was a graduate of Libby High School Class of 1935. He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran serving as a Medic for the U.S. Marines. Bud was a member of Conn Weissenberger American Legion for several years. He was a watch-maker by trade for the former Neumann Jewelers and several other jewelers for more than 50 years. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, classical music and taking photos of nature. Most importantly Bud cherished the time he was able to spend with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 32 years, Ruth (Neumann) Toy; brothers, Lee and Robert Toy and his stepdaughter, Rebecca Gerace. Bud is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Constance M. (Henry) Toy; children, David (Cheryl) Toy of Kansas City and FL, Sharon (Tom) Miller, Daniel (Beverly) Toy, Mary Beth (Robert) Sabin and step-daughter, Stephanie Morris of Fairfield, OH; sisters, Ruth Branks of FL and Anne Zitsma of Dublin, OH; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
The family will receive guests Thursday, March 10th, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 5856 Heatherdowns Blvd. for a Mass of Resurrection beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at a later time at Calvary Cemetery.
