Frank Akins. Sr.

Frank Nathaniel Akins, Sr., age 88, of Toledo, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 13, 2007 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born on November 13, 1918 to Wilson and Ann Akins in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. He received a silver star along with other numerous medals. Frank also loved fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 sister and 3 brothers. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Priscilla (Grimes) Akins; sons: John (Carolyn) and Frank Akins, Jr.; grandchildren: Jeremy and Katie; great-granddaughter: Abygayle; and many other family members and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) from 4 – 8:00 p.m.
