Francisca Abitua, age 80, of Toledo, passed away on May 3, 2016. She was born in Robstown, Texas to the late Guadalupe and Maria Marroquin on July 22, 1935. Francisca was a hard-working and energetic woman who loved life. She dedicated her entire life to caring for her family and her loving heart stretched out to all who knew her. One of Francisca's greatest joys was cooking for everyone. She lived by the belief that no matter how many came to the table, there would always be enough to go around. Francisca enjoyed spending time with her family, making crafts, dancing and walking to take in the world around her. She was short and sassy, had a loud and beautiful laugh and always saw the positive side of life.
Francisca is survived by her children, Jesus II (Sue) Abitua, Irma (Mark) Tolbert, Oscar (Becky) Abitua, Herman (Tammie) Abitua, Berto (Shelly) Abitua, David Abitua and Sonney (Shelly) Abitua; grandchildren, Jesus III, Maria, Jennifer, Sarah, Roberto, Lila, Teresa, Crystal, Phillip, Christopher, Jill, Alex, Adam, Ariel, Ashley, Zayne, Blake, Catherine, Darek, Damen, Lisa and Nicholas; 27 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Eduardo and Juan Marroquin. She was preceded in death by her son, Roberto; her sisters, Olivia and Consuelo; and her granddaughter, Corie.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 428 N. Erie St., Toledo, 43604. The Newcomer Funeral Home – NW Chapel (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
Francisca had a heart as big as Texas and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
