Francis R. Sidle, age 86 of Toledo, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Ebeid Hospice at Flower Hospital.
Frank was a proud graduate of Jesup W. Scott High School. After graduation Frank enlisted in the U.S. Army. He proudly served his country from 1943 to 1946 with the 180th Infantry Regime in the European Theater during World War II, in which he was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with Four Bronze Stars.
Upon an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, Frank enrolled at The Ohio State University from where he earned his Bachelor of Criminal Justice. He also did post-graduate work at the University of Michigan. He worked many years for the Court of Common Pleas, the Municipal Courts and eventually retired from his position as a Juvenile Court Referee. It was there he met the love of his life, Barbara. They enjoyed 34 years together, which included many January trips to one of their favorite vacation destinations Ixtapa, Mexico. They would have celebrated 21 years of marriage on October 12, 2010.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Vincent and Gregory. In addition to his beloved wife Barbara, Frank is survived by children, Nikkie (Douglas) Pearson, Todd (Jodi) Bieniek, Anthony Bieniek, Troy (Carmon) Bieniek; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He also will be missed by long-time loyal friends, Paul Sullivan, George Stamos, Tony Gladwell and the "Retiree's Lunch Group from Jing Chuan."
The family wishes to express their great gratitude to the staff at 6 Northwest at The Toledo Hospital and the staff of Ebeid Hospice.
At Frank's request there will be no visitation and funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests all tributes to Ebeid Hospice.
