Frances Ruth Homer, age 92, of Toledo, Ohio passed away August 31, 2014 at Elizabeth Scott Nursing Home, Maumee, Ohio. She was born August 30, 1922 in Toledo, Ohio to Fritz and Lily (Palm) Fischer. Frances was a foster grandmother for the Headstart Program in Escanaba, Michigan. She also was employed by the Anderson's as a greeter.
In addition to her parents, Frances was also preceded in death by her husband, Leo Homer; brother, Frank Fischer and brother-in-law, Dale Homer. She is survived by her children, Dale (Patricia) Homer, Ruth (David) Houseman and Joyce Mugg; grandchildren, Tracy (Ken), Brian (Janna), Kathryn, Joseph (Brandee), Jennifer (Ted), Leslie and Stephen (Jamee); 10 great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Kathy Homer.
The family will receive guests Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Friday at 1:00 pm. at the funeral home.
