Frances Mathews

Frances C. Mathews, age 77, of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2008 surrounded by her family. She was born January 4, 1931 to Joseph and Josephine (Amato) Schiavone in Toledo. Fran was employed with Printers 3 for several years. She enjoyed winters in Florida with her husband, bingo, quilting, crossword puzzles and many late night card games with family and friends. She will be remembered by her family as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and all the wonderful memories they made together.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her sisters, Carmella and Mary and brother, Joseph H. Schiavone. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Raymond W. Mathews; children, Raymond (Penny) Mathews, Jr.; Karen Mathews and Tina (Steve) Grau; grandchildren, Ray III; Kelly; Brooke; Karissa; Elijah; Cianna and Gabrielle; great grandchildren, Joshua; Serenity; Evan; Kaden and Julian; sister, Rose Mary (Bob) Gunner; brothers, Alexander (Mary Ann) Schiavone and James (Gloria) Schiavone and many dear extended family members and friends.

The family will receive guests Friday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremainsville Rd. Officiating will be Fr. Ed Littelmann. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
