Frances L. Porter - O'Connor

Frances L. (Valiton) Porter - O'Connor, age 81, of Maumee, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2008 in Flower Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born July 21, 1926 to Peter and Marie (Kush) Valiton in Archbold, Ohio. Frances was a bookkeeper with A.H. Jamra Company for several years, where she truly enjoyed working with her friend, Roger Oswald.

Frances grew up in Archbold, Ohio with and ultimately married her devoted husband Donald T. Porter. Don and Fran enjoyed 25 years together, raising their three sons. Frances will be fondly remembered by all who knew her for her zest for life, and her ability to have fun.

She met and married her second husband, Bob O'Connor who was a member of the Zenobia Shriner's. Bob owned a Jeepster and he and Frances had a lot of fun traveling to different events during their time together. She also enjoyed the game of Bingo. Frances was a longtime member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald T. Porter; second husband, Robert E. O'Connor; brothers, Edwin and James Valiton and sisters, Margaret (Valiton) Arens and Wilma (Valiton) Herr. She is survived by her loving sons, John T. (Karen) Porter; Stephen F. (Kathy) Porter and Jeffery D. (Jacqueline) Porter; grandchildren, Vincent J. (Teresa); Michael J. (Jill); Dr. Meredith (Kevin); Christopher J.; Nicholas J.; Margaret J. and Catherine E. Porter; Megan (Matt) Barrett; Ryan Porter; Heather (Myron) Moore; Ashley Weaver and Bryan Porter and 8 great grandchildren

The family will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial, Monday, January 7, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4555 North Haven. Officiating will be Fr. Gary Walters. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
