Frances Knaggs

Frances D. "Fran" (Douttiel) Knaggs, age 97, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2011 surrounded by her loving family at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born April 22, 1914 to Geroge R. and Ada (Van Sciever) Douttiel in Toledo. Fran graduated from Lake Township High School and later attended Bowling Green State University. Following college she taught first grade at Lake Township School for two years.

In 1947 she started working for Rossford Ordnance Army Depot and she worked there for 14 years. Fran later transferred to the Selective Service Board for two years until the closure of the Selective Service System. After nearly 30 years of service, she retired from the Federal Railroad Administration. In her spare time Fran enjoyed traveling, dancing, Hungarian embroidery, quilting and crocheting.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Sandra (David) Sahlstrom; grandsons, Terry (Lisa) Kille, Randy Kille, Brian (Tere) Kille, Ross (Chris) Rollins and Rex (Christy) Rollins; many loving great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive guests Monday from 3-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow Toledo Memorial Park.
