Floyda Summers

Floyda Mae Summers, age 67, of Toledo, went to be with the Lord Friday, August 19, 2005. She was born in Arkansas to Francis Mae Burns and James L. Day. Floyda was raised by her grandparents Sam and Blanche Burns. She later moved to Toledo where she met and married LaFayette Summers. They all preceded her in death.
She leaves as a testament of her life, sons: Victor, Bruce, LaFloyd (Malvina "Mike"), and Mark Summers, all of Toledo, Michael (Sharon) Summers of Orlando, FL; daughters: Janet (Charlie) Dixon and JoNell Summers; brothers: Sylvester Jones, of Chicago, IL and Michael Day of Toledo; sisters: Flora Jones, of Chicago, IL, Florence Day, of Richmond, VA and Cassandra Day-Moore of Toledo; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and a special friend, Berdell Huntley.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, August 25, 2005 from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Wake Service Friday at 10:00 a.m. followed by Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., at Pinewood Tabernacle Church, 531 Pinewood Ave. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Bishop Arvell Garrett, Sr., officiating.
