Florence S. Yeager, age 97, of Toledo, passed away peacefully August 29, 2015 at Heartland of Waterville. Florence was born May 20, 1918 in Toledo to Ralph and Mary (Runge) Holden. Florence was a homemaker and operated her own sewing business. She was involved in school groups, Eastern Star, Fort Industry Rainbow Girls Mother's Club and attended Trilby United Methodist Church. She loved bowling and was a member of the Women's International Bowling Association and was inducted into their hall of fame.
In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Yeager Sr., brothers; John, Ed and Fred and her sisters, Eleanor Stahl and Ruth Yeager. She is survived by her children; Dee Yeager-Bovenzi (Vinny), Carol King, Shari Taber, Chuck Yeager, Jr., Linda Irwin (Bob) and Kathy McGovern (Mark), brother, Henry Holden (Mary Ellen), sisters; Eva Kuhn, Grace Grill and Mary Badman, grandchildren; Fred King Jr., Ken Yeager, Jeanette Moore, Kevin Taber, Doug King, Kelley Biskey, Kris Matta, Lisa Rowan, Lori Elam, along with seventeen great grandchildren, one great-great grandson and many special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo, OH (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by burial at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
