Florence C. Nicklin, age 92, passed away Monday, January 18, 2010 at her daughters residence. She was born on November 13, 1917 to Charles and Amelia (Veon) Snell in Toledo, Ohio. Florence was a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She took pride in the fact that she was part of creating a five generational family. Florence enjoyed cross-word puzzles, word search, collecting angels, baking and entertaining her entire family. She was very appreciative for the care her daughter gave her over the past few years and also the ability to enjoy life and be surrounded by the ones who loved her.
She is survived by six children, Howard E. Nicklin Jr., Beverly Miller, Shirley Balazs, Patricia Beckford, Ron Nicklin, Lee A. Cedoz; 26 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 41 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Snell; sister, Patricia Messenger. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Howard E. Nicklin Sr. for whom she was married to for over 50 years; two grandsons, Lawrence J. Lindner Sr. and Douglas W. Laney Jr. and nine siblings.
The family will receive guests Friday from 1-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Leyman Carol Dusseau.
Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
