Florence L. Sobecki went to be with the Lord on July 29, 2012 while in the loving care of daughter Rita and son-in-law, John. Florence was born on February 28, 1918 to Walter and Catherine Nowak.
Florence was a life long member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church and was always ready to bake a pie or cake for their festival. Her recipes for strawberry pies and pie cuts; city chicken, tiny cut up potato salad and sour cream cucumbers along with her golabki and polish coffee cake will be handed down for generations. She was a long time sales clerk at Tiedtke's where she always felt like family.
Mom cherished the wonderful times she shared with family, Mary Jane, Rick, Jean, Gerry, and life long friends, Rose Marie and Delphine, and neighbors Mary Ann and John, Sharon, Nancy and Tina. She enjoyed her time with her nieces and nephews and their families at the Nowak gatherings. Florence loved to play the Lottery, Bingo and play the slots at the casinos.
Great-grandchildren Owen and Kara will miss her singing "I love you, a bushel and a peck…a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck".
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jerome; brothers, Stanley, Edmund and Joseph Nowak; and great-grandson, Clayton Sobecki.
Left to cherish her memory is Son, Kenneth (Nancy) Sobecki; Daughter, Rita (John) Wejsa; grandchildren, Ken (Sharon) Sobecki, Kyle (Lindsay) Sobecki, Joel Sobecki, Sean Wejsa, Justin Wejsa; and cherished great-grandchildren, Owen and Kara Sobecki.
