Florence E. Kirian, 92 years old, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2012 at The Glendale of Toledo. She was born June 6, 1920 in Birmingham, Alabama to Floyd and Lena (Goff) Harvey. During the Great Depression, in the 1930's, her family moved to Toledo and made that their permanent home. Florence graduated from Scott High School in 1938. She me the love of her life, Frank (Bud) Kirian and they married in 1940. He was drafted in 1944 and deployed to Europe to serve in WWII. He returned in 1946 and they began their life together again. They started a family and had two children, Larry and Ruth. Florence worked in accounts receivable for the Public Employee System for 30 years beginning at the Lucas County Home, Maumee Valley Hospital and finally the Medical College of Ohio where she continued to volunteer after retirement.
Florence enjoyed her family get togethers, especially at the holidays and during the summer at Devil's Lake. Dancing, bowling and playing cards were favorite pastimes. She always stated she had a great life and enjoyed her years of working and all the friendships she and Bud made over the years.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Bud; son, Larry, parents and two sisters, Hilda (Bunky) and Betty Jean. Florence is survived by her daughter, Ruth (Jim) Kennedy; sister, Ginney and many grandchildren and great – grandchildren, she will be truly missed.

The family will receive guests Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo. Graveside services will follow in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
